The good Lord laid it upon the heart of a few brethren in the Headquarter Church, Yaba, to start thinking, meeting and praying on the vision to have a place to worship in VGC. Bro John Obaro, Pastor Peter Ameadaji, Bro Jackson Ubeku and Sister Biodun Ogunkanmi. Our God is able and mighty. We know that what we have seen and witnessed so far represent just the beginning. As we go through the chartering, it is a call to further service in His Vineyard
The first service was held on 7th of October 2001 at “The Corridor”, in Chrisland School VGC. Attendance at the first service had four families summing up to eighteen (18) worshippers. The families were Obaros, Ameadajis, Ogunkanmis and Utahs.
The first serving Resident Pastor, Pastor IK Utah conducted and preached at the maiden service which heralded the first place of worship in the entire VGC.
The second service represented the beginning of growth of the Church as additional families. Amusans and Okunowos joined and raised the number at the service to twenty six (26). In less than one month of the first service, the first baby of the church, David Oluwanifemi Amusan, was delivered safely to the glory of God.
Within the first three months of the commencement of the church, are observing the steady growth in the number, there were a number of obstacles that the good lord helped us to overcome. The church was confronted directly and when that failed, the authorities of the Christian school were also taken up and threatened. We give God all the glory as were encouraged that” If God be for us, who can be against us” (Romans 8:31b)
In spite of the machinations of the devil, the good Lord continued to build His church. Due to the growing number and to ensure that our children receive appropriate teaching, the church children took off very early.
Not only that the Lord increased our number, He also blessed our members in all areas of their respective lives. To demonstrates gratitude to God for His blessings, members gave in tithes and offering as well as towards land purchase and ultimately.
The first parcel of land was fully paid for by the second anniversarsy of the Church in spite of the amount involved relative to the number of members. we can all testify that it is good to give to the work of Lord.
Notwithstanding that we owed land VGC, the church had to relocate to Servtrust Premises by Lekki Epe Expressway on the Expiration of the VGC Management Ultimatum to Chrisland School.
To the glory of God, we returned to VGC to the property built for His own glory, just recently we acquired the third plot of land. As at date Church worshippers has risen to about 350 including Teens and the Children Church.
We have recently taken further step in expanding the great commission by planting a church in Oluwatedo( Sangotedo) and Awoyaya
